Runner Bitten by Dogs Before Fatal Attack in Kaihu

A 62-year-old woman, Mihiata Te Rore, was found dead after being attacked by three dogs in Kaihu on State Highway 12. She was visiting someone at the property when the dogs mauled her, resulting in fatal injuries. A local man who had previously encountered the dogs expressed guilt for not reporting the earlier incidents. The dogs are now in custody of animal management, as confirmed by Detective Senior Sergeant Shane Pilmer.
