Huntly man Neahemea Dey on home detention for drinking

A man, Neahemea Dey, defied a judge’s order to return home after receiving a home detention sentence and instead chose to drink with family. When police located him at his Huntly residence, he attempted to flee by jumping over fences but was eventually caught, resulting in an officer sustaining a cut. Dey, 34, has spent six months in custody and recently appeared in the Hamilton District Court for sentencing on both his previous and new charges.
