ASIRT clears RCMP in shooting of man with paintball gun outside Ponoka courthouse

ASIRT has cleared the RCMP officer who shot a man brandishing a paintball gun in Ponoka, Alberta, finding the shooting justified. West Thomas Aldridge, the 42-year-old victim, survived his injuries after being shot by the officer outside a courthouse. The officer fired 12 rounds when Aldridge pointed the gun at him, with four shots hitting Aldridge, leading to his hospitalization.
