Doctors and paramedical professionals in Chennai staged a one-day strike, wearing black badges and holding placards at Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital to condemn the assault on senior doctor Balaji at Guindy Kalaignar Centenary Super Speciality Hospital. The Federation of All India Medical Students’ Association (FAIMA) decided to document attacks on resident doctors and present them to governments following a doctor being stabbed by a patient’s attendant in a government hospital. FAIMA aims to raise awareness through social media and may call for a nationwide strike if their efforts do not yield results.
