With more heat waves in our future, researchers say we need to look at clean cooling

Canadians are facing more frequent and intense heat waves, leading to increased demand for cooling solutions that are environmentally sustainable. Sustainable cooling methods include passive cooling techniques like green roofs and white roofs, as well as technological advancements to reduce the use of harmful hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HFCs) in air conditioners. The Global Cooling Prize and initiatives like the Kigali Amendment are paving the way for cleaner and more efficient cooling options to combat the impact of global warming and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
