Two North Shore ski hills opening this weekend

Two North Shore ski resorts are set to open this weekend, joining Whistler Blackcomb which opened Blackcomb Mountain a day earlier than expected. Cypress will open with two ski lifts and five runs available, while Grouse Mountain is scheduled to open on Saturday with new state-of-the-art gondola set to open this season. Both resorts are opening earlier than last year, with hopes for a colder than normal winter season predicted by Environment Canada.
