Trump says Canada depends on the U.S. in Davos speech

At the World Economic Forum in Davos, U.S. President Donald Trump criticized Canada for not being grateful for U.S. support, following Prime Minister Mark Carney’s speech about the decline of the old rules-based order. Trump suggested Canada benefits from U.S. defense initiatives and stated, “Canada lives because of the United States.” Carney left Davos without meeting Trump, and EU President Ursula von der Leyen also avoided the U.S. leader. The annual summit gathers global leaders to address pressing international issues.
