Travel insurance: Malaria coma costs man $30K

A man from Alberta, Colin Crane, has been hospitalized at the Medipal International Hospital in Kampala, Uganda for over two months with a large medical bill. He cannot leave until it is paid, as he lacks travelers’ medical insurance. Crane, who went to Africa for a business trip and fell ill, has been experiencing difficulty sleeping, breathing, and eating during his stay at the hospital.
