Poll: Many Torontonians Disapprove of Mayor Olivia Chow

The latest Leger poll reveals that 43% of Torontonians approve of Mayor Olivia Chow’s performance, while an equal percentage disapprove; however, strong disapproval has surged to 27%, now three times the 9% who strongly approve. Older residents are more critical than younger ones, with 59% of those over 55 expressing dissatisfaction, compared to 45% of younger adults who somewhat approve. Chow, elected in 2023, faces challenges regarding affordability and housing, which are critical issues for constituents. Recent comments she made on the Israel-Gaza conflict have also sparked backlash, further complicating her standing.
