Sudbury elevator shutdown affects tenants with disabilities
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

A Sudbury woman with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, Andrea Gustafson, is struggling due to a year-long elevator shutdown in her apartment building, limiting daily activities for elderly and disabled residents. The elevator, out of service since November 2024, has caused significant hardships as tenants must climb stairs, leading to pain and financial strain. Building management cites delays from the Technical Standards and Safety Authority regarding safety issues with the new elevator installation. Gustafson and other tenants continue to advocate for the restoration of elevator service to alleviate their struggles.
