Less than one per cent of students rank the Canadian Forces as their top career choice

Canada’s military faces recruitment challenges, with a recent survey revealing that less than one percent of over 24,000 post-secondary students ranked the Canadian Forces as their top employer. Despite this, students interested in military careers showed a strong preference for job security and professional development, with 60 percent expressing a desire for long-term careers in the military. As the Canadian Armed Forces aims to increase its numbers to meet targets by 2032, there exists an opportunity to attract talent that values ethics and stability in their career choices.
