A man from Powell River, B.C., named Dan Sickavish, was saved from choking on steak during his 40th wedding anniversary dinner at The Keg in Whistler by a stranger, Erin Johnstone. Kathy, Dan’s wife, noticed his distress and felt helpless as another diner quickly administered the Heimlich maneuver. After the incident, the Sickavishes launched a social media campaign to find Erin, successfully locating her with online help.
