Fifteen-year-old Daniel Milliea, a viola player from the Elsipogtog First Nation, is set to perform at Carnegie Hall on December 20 after placing third in the American Protégé international talent competition. His music instructor, Swan Serna, who also qualified for the performance, noted that it’s a significant opportunity akin to the Olympics of music. Milliea practices diligently and aims to inspire his Indigenous community through his music. He hopes to become a conductor and represents his culture on the prestigious stage.
