Thousands of doctors and supporters rallied in Montreal to protest Quebec’s Bill 2, which ties doctor remuneration to performance indicators. The law, passed under closure, threatens fines for non-compliance and has prompted legal challenges from medical federations. Critics argue it undermines patient care and doctor autonomy, while the government claims it aims to improve access for patients. Calls for negotiations to resume are contingent on suspending the law, amid growing dissent within the governing party.
