An organized crime group in Ontario and Quebec, responsible for stealing over a million dollars in razors, nicotine gum, makeup, and face creams from Shoppers Drug Marts, was dismantled by Hamilton police, resulting in the arrest of 21 individuals aged 15 to 75. The sophisticated theft operation, which began last August, involved stealing products using bags designed to evade security and reselling them at liquidation stores. Investigators are still assessing the total value of stolen goods, with warrants out for two additional suspects believed to have left the country. The arrested individuals face 175 charges, and authorities aim to prevent their release on bail by consolidating charges in Hamilton.
