TIFF CEO Cameron Bailey apologized to filmmakers and the TIFF community after the festival rescinded an invitation for the documentary “The Road Between Us: The Ultimate Rescue,” which recounts a father’s race to save his family during the October 7 Hamas attacks. While TIFF cited legal clearance issues, critics, including Jewish leaders and Ontario’s Minister of Tourism, have accused the festival of censorship and called for better communication with affected communities.
