Poor visibility leads to skier’s death in sink hole: RCMP

A 67-year-old man died at Fernie Alpine Resort after falling into a sinkhole, prompting an investigation by Elk Valley RCMP. Despite efforts from ski patrol and B.C. Ambulance, the man succumbed to injuries caused by being trapped in loose snow. The resort’s owners expressed condolences to the victim’s family and community.
