During the holiday shopping season, several independent Saskatchewan businesses, including Over the Hill Orchards and Winery, found their names listed on the U.S.-based gift website Giftly without consent. Sylvia Kreutzer, co-owner of the winery, expressed concern that customers might be misled into thinking they were purchasing legitimate gift cards. Giftly’s CEO Timothy Bentley stated that the company aggregates public information and does not sell traditional gift cards, leading to confusion. Businesses can request removal from the site, but many were unaware they were listed in the first place.
