Michael “Mike D” Diamond of The Beastie Boys is set to embark on his first solo tour, named the Mike D 5D tour, following the death of fellow band member Adam “MCA” Yauch in 2012. The tour will begin with a sold-out performance in Boston on August 30, shortly after the release of his debut solo album, Thank You. Diamond will make his first Canadian stop at Vancouver’s Vogue Theatre on September 30, with the North American leg concluding in Toronto on October 20, before heading to Europe for additional shows in the UK, Netherlands, France, Germany, Switzerland, and Belgium. Joining him on stage will be his sons, Skyler and Davis, who are part of the dance-pop duo Very Nice Person.
