Regina man sentenced for crimes linked to crystal meth and fatal crash

Mihail Oblacov, 40, was sentenced to eight years in prison for a series of crimes committed during his crystal meth addiction, including impaired driving that resulted in the death of 64-year-old Robert McCallum. Oblacov’s criminal activities spanned from February to July 2024 and included assaulting his wife, attempting vehicle theft, and fleeing from police. His lawyer cited Oblacov’s rapid descent into addiction after being introduced to cocaine in 2023, which subsequently led to severe consequences for him and those around him.
