Major road closures planned for Valley Line LRT west this year

Construction manager Jonathan Cox of Marigold Infrastructure Partners aims to complete most major roadwork for the Valley Line LRT in Edmonton by the end of 2025, with tracks laid in 2026. Significant road closures are planned for central and west Edmonton starting this spring, causing short-term traffic disruptions. City councillors approved a new plan to expedite construction, with closures including Stony Plain Road and 124 Street for two months, and 104 Avenue to one lane in each direction from 106 Street to 121 Street for nine months. Cox expressed confidence in meeting timelines and demonstrating efficient construction practices to the city.
