A new 36-bed drug withdrawal center in downtown Toronto, operated by Unity Health Toronto, provides a safe and comfortable space for homeless individuals and others seeking to get clean. The facility offers private and shared rooms, cooked meals, laundry services, and therapy sessions with addictions counsellors and nurses available 24/7. Funded by the Ministry of Health, the center is a significant improvement from previous dorm-style accommodations, offering a more supportive and welcoming environment for those struggling with addiction.
