Father and son find ichthyosaur skull in B.C. river valley

The fossilized skull of an ichthyosaur, a marine reptile, was discovered by Kevin Geist and his son along the Kiskatinaw River in B.C. after drought conditions exposed more rocks. Confirmed by the Tumbler Ridge Museum, the skull dates back to the Triassic period, despite being found in a valley from the Cretaceous period, indicating a unique geological history.
