A London manufacturing plant planned by China-based Maple Armor Group to produce alarm systems has been shut down due to the threat of steep U.S. tariffs on Canadian-made goods. The company, which had bought land in London for the plant, has decided to expand its Quebec facility instead. This decision was made in response to the uncertainty caused by U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposed tariffs on Canadian goods, which would impact sales to the U.S. market.
