Police Officer Charged with Possession of Child Abuse Material

A Hamilton police officer, Const. Dave Hamilton, 43, has been charged with possessing and transmitting child sexual abuse material. Following his arrest by Halton police, he has been suspended without pay and is in custody awaiting a bail hearing. The charges relate to incidents allegedly occurring in Burlington, Ont., on January 3 and 4. Hamilton, who has worked with youth in various roles, is being assisted by the Hamilton Police Association during the ongoing investigation.
