This error halted her studies and work, causing financial strain and emotional distress. After intervention from her academic supervisor, MLA Krista Gallagher, and MP Shannon Miedema, the immigration authorities later confirmed the document was on file. Kondo’s study permit has since been approved, allowing her to resume her academic and professional activities.
