Canadian man pleads guilty to online child exploitation in U.S.

A Canadian man, Ramanan Pathmanathan, 40, pleaded guilty in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia to producing child pornography and coercing over 100 minors through social media, posing as a teenage boy. He exploited victims aged 11 to 17, threatening to share recorded explicit acts if they refused to comply. Pathmanathan faces a maximum of life in prison, with sentencing scheduled for May 27, and has already received a 12-year sentence in Canada for similar offenses. This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, aimed at combating child exploitation.
