Regina and Saskatoon to Conduct Annual Homeless Counts Starting in 2025

Saskatchewan’s major cities, Saskatoon and Regina, will begin conducting annual point-in-time (PiT) homeless counts starting this fall, shifting from a previous three-year interval, amid rising homelessness rates. Organized by Namerind Housing Corporation, the counts aim to collect data on unhoused individuals and connect them with support services, as Regina’s count nearly doubled to 824 and Saskatoon’s tripled to 1,499 in recent years.
