Bird flu found at B.C. animal rescue sanctuary

An animal rescue organization in the Okanagan, Critteraid, has reported an avian flu outbreak at its sanctuary, with a confirmed case of H5N1. The non-profit, which cares for various pets and farm animals, expressed devastation over the situation but committed to transparency and cooperation with veterinary and health authorities. This news follows a recent cull of over 300 ostriches at a nearby farm due to an earlier outbreak. Critteraid plans to provide updates as they navigate this challenging time.
