The B.C. Green Party has terminated its Cooperation and Responsible Government Accord (CARGA) with the NDP, citing unmet commitments regarding health care, transit, and electoral reform since its signing in December 2024. Green MLA Jeremy Valeriote stated that nearly two-thirds of their agreements remain unfulfilled, prompting a shift to bill-by-bill voting. Leader Emily Lowan criticized the NDP for prioritizing corporate interests over worker support. Following the announcement, deputy premier Niki Sharma acknowledged potential cooperation but noted the Greens’ ability to trigger an election by aligning with the Conservatives.
