August hailstorm sets new record for insured damages

The recent storms in north Calgary caused nearly $2.8 billion in insured losses, according to the Insurance Bureau of Canada. Redstone community was hit by a massive hail storm on Aug. 5, 2024, followed by another storm two days later, resulting in significant damage. The severe weather shredded siding, battered rooftops, and dented vehicles, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.
