Ontario Government Urged to Support Jewish Students After Protest

On November 5, 2025, an anti-Israel protest disrupted an event organized by Toronto Metropolitan University’s Students Supporting Israel, leading to calls for action from Jewish organizations, including the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs and B’nai Brith Canada. They urged the Ontario government to hold universities accountable for protecting Jewish students and to enforce policies against hate and intimidation. The protest, organized by Students for Justice in Palestine, resulted in property damage and five arrests. TMU condemned the violence and stated it would cooperate with police investigations.
