A Waikato tradesman, Jason Mark Lambert, failed to complete any work for which he received deposits from 12 victims, amounting to approximately $21,000. Although the victims are set to be reimbursed, the process may take several years and offers little consolation to one victim still repaying a loan for Lambert’s services. Lambert was sentenced in the Hamilton District Court on 13 charges, admitting to eight and being found guilty on five others. This case highlights the challenges faced by victims in recovering their funds from fraudulent tradesmen.
