Dublin City Council Faces Antisemitism Allegations Over Herzog Park Renaming

The Irish government has urged Dublin city to reconsider plans to rename Herzog Park, named after former Israeli President Chaim Hertzog, to Hind Rajab Park, a move criticized by local Jewish leaders and the Israeli government as “antisemitism.” The city committee has not provided reasons for the proposed change, amidst Ireland’s strong criticism of Israel’s actions in Gaza. Foreign Minister Helen McEntee has expressed opposition to the name change, urging city councillors to vote against it. This proposal is expected to be brought to a vote in the city council soon.
