Israel Tracks Soldiers’ Social Media Activity Following October 7 Events
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Israel’s military will start monitoring soldiers’ social media accounts using an AI system called Morpheus to prevent sensitive information leaks, following vulnerabilities exposed during the Oct. 7, 2023 events. This measure aims to enhance security and will cover approximately 170,000 public accounts, excluding private ones for legal reasons. A prior pilot phase involving 45,000 soldiers identified numerous posts needing deletion. The military acknowledges this step infringes on privacy but considers it essential to avert future intelligence failures.
