2024 NHL Playoffs: Jets beat Avalanche 7-6 in Game 1

Captain Adam Lowry and Kyle Connor each scored twice to lead the Winnipeg Jets to a thrilling 7-6 victory over the Colorado Avalanche in Game 1 of the first-round playoff series on Sunday.


This matchup marked the first time these two teams have faced each other in the NHL playoffs.


A packed crowd of 15,225 fans dressed in white filled Canada Life Centre, creating a lively atmosphere both inside and outside the arena.


Mark Scheifele contributed a goal and two assists, while Josh Morrissey added a goal and an assist. Vladislav Namestnikov also found the back of the net. Brenden Dillon, Gabriel Vilardi, and Nino Niederreiter each tallied two assists, with Connor picking up one assist.


Connor Hellebuyck stood tall in goal, making 39 saves for the Jets, who extended their winning streak to nine games.


Cale Makar recorded a goal and two assists for Colorado, with Nathan MacKinnon and Artturi Lehkonen each scoring a goal and adding an assist. Valeri Nichushkin, Miles Wood, and Casey Mittelstadt also scored, while Mikko Rantanen contributed two assists.
