Alberta Premier Danielle Smith has threatened to withhold funding for new judicial positions unless Prime Minister Mark Carney alters the federal judicial appointment process. In a letter, Smith requested Alberta’s involvement in filling judicial vacancies and proposed a special advisory committee to recommend candidates.
