Zelenskiy says Crimea can only be restored to Ukraine through diplomacy

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskiy acknowledged that Crimea, seized by Russia in 2014, must be restored to Ukrainian sovereignty through diplomacy, as the country cannot afford the lives that would be lost in a military retaking. Zelenskiy rejected ceding any territory already occupied by Moscow’s forces and emphasized the need for a diplomatic solution, proposing a peace formula and a “victory plan” centered on the withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine. Despite recent calls for security guarantees and NATO membership, Moscow has adamantly rejected these notions.
