A former bakery owner, Leslie “Brett” Henderson, is accused of deliberately running down Duane Jackison, a man who often slept outside their store, after Jackison threw a metal bin liner at his wife’s ute. The incident was captured on CCTV, showing Jackison in the road and throwing the bin liner at the vehicle. Following the altercation, Brett allegedly returned and struck Jackison, resulting in severe injuries. Jackison has since died from unrelated circumstances, and his testimony will not be heard in the trial.
