Sophie Elliott murder: Clayton Weatherston seeks parole
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

One of New Zealand’s most notorious murderers, Clayton Robert Weatherston, is set to appear before the Parole Board for the first time this week, 18 years after he brutally killed his ex-girlfriend, Sophie Elliott. Weatherston was sentenced to life in prison for stabbing Elliott over 200 times and mutilating her body in January 2008 at her family’s home in Dunedin. Her family continues to seek answers regarding the motivations behind his violent actions. This case remains one of the country’s most horrific domestic violence incidents.
