Woman Charged with Murder of One-Year-Old

On August 3, 2023, 17-month-old Jayla-Jean McLaren died in the hospital two days after being admitted with serious injuries. Samara Jay Glover, 27, from Newport, has been charged with her murder and causing or allowing the death of a child, while a 31-year-old man remains on conditional bail after earlier arrests related to the case.
