Last month, the Withers community hosted a morning tea at the Withers Community Library to raise funds for cancer research as part of Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea event, which has raised over $250 million in 32 years. The event, attended by local residents and volunteers, was praised by community member Julie Underdown for its success in gathering essential funds for the Cancer Council, highlighting the impact of cancer on nearly half of Australians. Underdown expressed gratitude to the 15 sponsors supporting the initiative, emphasizing their generosity in aiding cancer research and treatments.
