William Shatner has responded humorously to a viral critique of Paramount+’s new series Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, which sparked calls for him to take creative control of the franchise. The discussion was ignited by Stephen Miller, who criticized the show and proposed reconciliation with Shatner as a way to "course-correct" the series. Shatner’s playful reply focused on a detail from the clip, joking about the lack of advancements in vision correction by the 32nd century and suggesting he is ready to take charge. While the idea of Shatner leading Star Trek is popular among fans, there are no official indications that it will happen.
