Woman from Chernobyl dies in Russian attack on Kyiv

A woman named Natalia Khodemchuk, who survived the Chernobyl disaster in 1986, died from severe burns after a Russian strike hit her apartment in Kyiv, part of a residential block for Chernobyl survivors. Her husband, Valery, was the first casualty of the disaster, and she succumbed to her injuries hours after the attack, which killed seven and injured at least 35 others. President Zelensky condemned the strikes as a “heinous” act of terror against the Ukrainian people. The assault involved over 400 drones and missiles targeting various regions, primarily Kyiv.
