United States President Donald Trump expressed anger towards Russian President Vladimir Putin for questioning the legitimacy of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Trump threatened to impose secondary tariffs on Russian oil sales if a ceasefire in Ukraine was not agreed upon. Diplomatic efforts to end the Ukraine war have seen some progress, with a temporary halt to military force in the Black Sea. However, Putin has not yet signed a complete ceasefire proposal. It is unclear if Trump’s threats will effectively pressure Russia, as past similar threats have not been carried out.
