Waymo will deploy its driverless cars in Japan, starting with testing its Jaguar I-PACE vehicles in Tokyo in early 2025 with human drivers from Nihon Kotsu to map the city. The data gathered will be used to train the self-driving system, with plans to offer driverless rides to the public through a partnership with Japan’s “GO” taxi app in the future. In addition to Japan, Waymo will also be deploying its Jaguar I-PACE vehicles in Miami in early 2025 and expanding to Austin and Atlanta next year, with public rides expected in Miami in 2026.
