US and Ukraine sign minerals deal giving rare resources for Trump’s support against Russia

The US and Ukraine have signed a minerals deal, granting the US access to rare earth minerals in exchange for support in ending the war with Russia. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced the agreement, which establishes the United States-Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund, with both countries contributing 50% of the financing. Bessent emphasized the commitment to a peaceful and prosperous Ukraine, asserting that no entity that aided Russia will benefit from the reconstruction efforts.
