US and Russia envoys meet in Davos; Ukraine reconstruction plan postponed.

US envoy Steve Witkoff is set to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Thursday, as the signing of an $800bn Ukraine deal is postponed due to tensions over Greenland. The meeting follows discussions between US and Russian envoys at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, with reports of a positive outcome. Tensions over Trump’s bid to acquire Greenland have derailed the Ukraine reconstruction plan, with NATO allies urged to focus on defending Ukraine amidst ongoing Russian missile and drone attacks. Ukrainian President Zelenskyy is staying in Kyiv to oversee relief efforts amid the attacks, which have resulted in casualties and damaged infrastructure in various regions.
