US missile system will remain in Philippines despite China’s alarm | World News

American and Filipino officials have agreed to maintain a US mid-range missile system in the northern Philippines to enhance deterrence against China, despite Chinese objections. The system, capable of firing Tomahawk missiles targeting China, may stay until next year’s joint exercises. Philippine Defense Secretary rejected China’s interference, emphasizing the need for defensive capabilities and criticizing China’s actions in the South China Sea.
