Three latest attacks in the eastern Pacific Ocean come as the US increases military presence in Trinidad and Tobago, near Venezuela.
The US military reported killing eight individuals in strikes on three vessels in the eastern Pacific, claiming they were linked to drug trafficking. This follows a series of attacks since September, which have resulted in over 90 deaths, drawing criticism for potential extrajudicial killings. Concurrently, Trinidad and Tobago has authorized US military use of its airports, intensifying the US presence near Venezuela amid rising tensions. Venezuelan officials have condemned these actions, asserting they threaten national sovereignty and resources.
